Cry

I haven't seen someone cry in such a long time
I've forgotten what it looks like, the wetness of the eyes
The blushing of the cheeks
The runny nose that happens inevitably
And it seems so often that people cry over the same things
Love, loss, nostalgia, joy
The pain of childbirth versus the delight of a baby boy
Children cry a lot but they take crying for granted
Lovers dry up their wells quickly, even their reservoirs are stranded
Cry all day and create a new river
Get your heart broken twice and it'll happen quicker
You'll never trust another because the reminder is there
And the tears you bore will be the scar you bare
Although crying isn't always a hurtful thing
Yes, it can be a scar, but tears also develop from rings
Weddings and things and happy moments of pleasure
And tears speak at levels that words could never say better
So cry out of sadness and cry for joy
Cry to let the expressions deploy
Cry until you can no more
Tears are wealth and you're not poor
Pour out the water from your mind
Let your eyes speak when your tongues in a bind
They'll understand if they're not blind
For the tear is a sphere of the most powerful kind
Speak words, essays, poems and oceans
With some water and saline you can show your devotion
To love, meaning, character, pride,
honor, respect, groom, or bride
Put words away and dampen your eyes
Because to tell the truth you put pride aside
And in crying there is no lie,
no shame, no bashfulness or anything to hide
So for once in your life, or perhaps for always, cry
