Summer's creeping in, all the fun memories begin
And as the winter ends and the spring extends we have to thank our friends
Our lovers fathers mothers brothers each and every one another
Because every one we don't discover is a treasure that lies covered
The weather brinks the mind that thinks
Thoughts and ideas thought extinct
The weather binds these ancient minds and brings them to the forefront of time
So that thoughts so old are yet again bold but thought to be new; the least of this is true
We've thought the same since caveman days, being inspired in the same ways
By nature, by weather, by emotion, by the ocean,
By the waves that steadily sway back and forth all day
The beaches haven't changed nor the roles they play
We just let our arrogant minds lead us astray
Into thought that says we are new, but we are unchanging
We will never think of something new, we only fall into the cracks of former thoughts,
Picking up the residue their jackhammering minds left, examining it,
Taking a closer look, seeing what we can resume.
Then along comes the young ideologist and reformist, taking his basic tools,
the sledge hammer, and pounding into a diferent part of the same area thinking he'll find something new,
Only he finds he's done the exact same thing as the others when he's through.
We walk upon a ground we cannot break, for it is not in our fate.
We want to see from what we grow, thinking knowledge must lie below,
But our minds aren't strong enough to break the mold, break out of what we're told,
And when we are, we find ourselves very far from logical thought,
Abstract ideas and theories that are too hard to believe.
The truth is too simple, why can't we just let that fact be?
We complicate everything looking for details and reasons,
Global warming and its effect on the seasons..
Yeah that's all important but what does it get you?
In the end you're too small to play God and try to fix anything:
Every time we have in the past we ruined something drastically, at least in the long run.
We need to focus on what's important and what will get us somewhere:
The basics of Islam and what lies behind the intentions of shari'a:
Being good to one another, protecting each other, and preserving life, reputation, and morale.
